Shallu Jindal was always passionate about dance, especially in classical art forms. However, a chance encounter with Gurus Raja Radha Reddy at the lotus feet of Lord Venkateshwara in Tirupati pushed her to realise as well as fulfil her dreams. It led her to study, practice and perform the dance form more seriously. Today, Shallu Jindal has performed in India and abroad and has received many awards and accolades for her innate talent.

Actively encouraged by her husband, Shallu Jindal has been pursuing her passion for Kuchipudi, a classical dance from Andhra Pradesh, for years now. She had her Rangapravesham in 2004 after 3 years of learnings and even today she keeps up with her rigorous practice of Kuchipudi & performs to promote Kuchipudi across the world. As a disciple of the Gurus Padma Bhushan Raja Reddy and Padma Bhushan Radha Reddy, Shallu Jindal’s love for dance has not only increased manifold over the years but also taken her to several places around the world with a chance to promote Kuchipudi.

Over the years, Shallu Jindal has been honoured with several prestigious awardS, recognition and appreciation for contribution to classical dance in India and globally like the ‘2019 Aeklavya Award’ for her contribution towards Indian Classical dance at the prestigious historical venue of Victoria Theatre, Singapore , 2019 Artist of the Year Award’ for her contribution in the field of 'Creative Art' at '11th Asiad Literature Festival' by Bharat Nirman Foundation ‘ 2018 Beacons Of Light Award’ for Dance from The Dance India, ‘Kalashree Samman’ for Dance by Gandharv Kala Parishad, Devdasi National Award' & Naatyasree, ‘4th Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award , the first National"Nritya Ratan"Award to a Kuchipudi dansesuse at Cuttack International Festival ….to name a few.

Making an elegant entry into the dance world, debutante Yashasvini Jindal performed with confidence at Kamani Auditorium recently. Disciple of Padma Bhushan Raja and Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy, Yashasvini’s ranga pravesham reflected her effort of eight years of practice under her gurus Raja and Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy. She was initiated in this beautiful tradition of Kuchipudi by my mother Shallu Jindal, who feels proud that even if Yashasvini doesn’t pursue Kuchipudi as a career she will always carry the legacy of this traditional dance and art form with her. And that Mrs Jindal says is her true legacy as an artist.
